Just thought that I'd share this article I read on the Straits Times with all of you. It totally shares the same sentiments as me as we see that many people have "learnt the fine art of complaining about nearly everything in 140 characters or fewer". We seem to have people complaining about everything in this country, right from the "Give Way Lane" for the YOG to the new National Songs we have every year.
We never seem to be satisfied or contented with what we have. It's also a time for me to reflect and think upon my actions and words. Have I been complaining too much? "Instead of grappling with solutions, we seem content to reject advice, or not even offer it."
To quote from the article: "Today, we celebrate National Day as one united nation. But I do not think there is much to celebrate if we are just a united nation of complainers."
I do hope that those I teach do not grow up to be "whingers" but rather bold Singaporeans who would provide solutions and do something instead of whining.
