Acrostic Poems

Well done on the acrostic poems assignment! All of you have made an effort to write an acrostic poem, some have even written a few.

Here are two poems from the many poems you have written:

FAMILY by Rachelle Sim

First to congratulate you
Always there to see you through
Many outings we will go
It's the togetherness which helps us grow
Living together is so much fun
Yes! My family is number one!

TREE by Elaine Chan

Trust me to give you shade and keep cool
Rest on my thick trunk without worry as you
Eat my delicious ripe fruits
Even if you are lost in the woods

Marina Barrage

Hi!

How was your holidays? I hope it was a fun one... you still have 5 more days before the holidays end officially.

Well, I had my holidays too but I did not travel overseas. So, I took this opportunity to explore parts of Singapore and ended up at Marina Barrage last Sunday. Marina Barrage is Singapore's very first reservoir in the country. It's quite a nice place with a roof top garden where many people flew kites. It made me feel like flying one too! Here are some pictures I took with my lousy camera. Enjoy!

Journey of Life Together

Someone sent me an email about this father and son team. Watch and be inspired by the love this father has for his son.

Graciousness

Do you give up your seat in the train or bus to the elderly or a pregnant lady?

When you are boarding the train, do you give way to those who are alighting?

What should we do when we meet with such situations? Read about this graciousness campaign online.

Journals and Spelling List

Some of you have been asking about the journals. Well, all of you wrote very long entries about your holidays. I took a long time to read them so I could not return them to you by yesterday. I'll return them to you next week. By the way, I enjoyed reading about your holidays!

Regarding the spelling list, there won't be any spelling next week. So spelling will start in Week 3.

Doesn't the fishhead curry look delicious? It certainly is! There was only two of us and we finished the whole fishhead!

Well, that's about it. I'm not too good with giving the exact details of the dishes. I will post more pictures of other mouth-watering food I have eaten!

Hope you have been having a good holiday!

My Family

As promised, I am going to be a "student", writing my journal online.

Well, my family. I have a pretty small family with only 1 younger sister. She's still studying and siblings are supposed to look alike right, but she does not look quite like me. But I am like my mother in terms of looks and size. :) My father is tall and obviously, I did not take on this gene. My sister did. He also cooks super yummy food. I hope that I can cook like him.

Here's a picture of me, my mother and sister.

That's all about my family. What about yours?

cheers,
Miss Han
